Legacy Athletics

Oct. 15, 2024

EYBA Members,

As some of you found out this past week, we are using a beautiful new facility located in the southwest called Legacy Athletics. Legacy is set to be a 6-court facility plus one training/11U court. As of right now, 4 of the courts are ready to go while the other 3 remain under construction.

We are asking that EYBA members and family stick to the courts that are open and don’t wander to the areas marked off for construction purposes. Inside the office portion of the building, we ask that no one crosses the yellow taped off areas. Lastly, we would like our members to use the many shoe racks available to house their outdoor shoes during the games.

Although this facility is good to go for our basketball games on courts 3-6, there have been a few deficiencies which we have been addressing with them:

  • Unpadded columns/pillars - This was addressed after October 9th games, all columns and walls surrounding Courts 3-6 should now be padded
  • Glare from windows - Also addressed after October 9th games, the windows by the courts are now covered so that no one is blinded by sunlight while playing

  • Dust on courts - Addressed today. The dust on the courts is from the construction area and will go away once construction is finished. For the time being, Legacy will wet mop the playing courts before all our sessions, which should really help. It is very important that our members remove their shoes to help with this situation as shoes can bring the dust to the courts from other areas of the building if they are not removed.

They are hoping that construction only lasts a few more weeks. Thank you for your patience.
